Google Authenticator protects your Wordpress site from hijacking by adding an extra layer of security.
With 2-step verification signing in to your site will require a code generated by the Google Authenticator app in addition to your username and password.

Once you've installed the Google Authenticator app onto your phone, you need to configure your blog to use it.
Your Google Authenticator settings can be found in your user profile, under the section labelled Google Authenticator Settings.

Note: It's extremely important that you scan the QR code after activating Google Authenticator. If you don't do this, you will not be able to log back into your site.
Losing your Google Authenticator key can be a disaster -- if your phone is lost or stolen you won't be able to log into your site anymore.
